Established in 1993 — the foundation of NY Ikuei Gakuen’s fundraising

Message from the Principal

学園長からのご挨拶

Our school, Japanese Children’s Society (New York Ikuei Gakuen), will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2029, thanks to your continued support. We are deeply proud to have supported the education of children in this community for nearly half a century.

Guided by our philosophy — a school that understands Japan more deeply than schools in Japan itself, experiences New York more fully than local schools, and allows students to challenge themselves, fail, and try again — we are now pursuing full-scale educational reform. Our goal is to nurture not only knowledge but also experience and personal growth, developing the ability to thrive independently in a global society.

At the same time, our school buildings have aged, and the time has come to renew our educational environment with the 50th anniversary in mind — including considering the reconstruction of our campus.
This is not simply a matter of updating facilities. Owning our own land and buildings means protecting a lasting home for the Japanese community in New York across generations, and passing it on to the next generation.

We hope you will lend us your support so that our 50th anniversary can mark a meaningful step into the next half century, guided by our new educational philosophy.
Your donations go directly toward the future of our children and the foundation of the Japanese community here.

February 2026
Hidetoshi Takeda, Principal, Japanese Children’s Society

About the Friendship Fund

フレンドシップ・ファンドとは
Established in 1993, the Friendship Fund is the foundation of NY Ikuei Gakuen’s year-round fundraising efforts. On occasion, we may also conduct separate fundraising campaigns for special milestones or emergencies. Since the terms of appreciation may differ for those campaigns, please refer to the relevant announcement or contact us directly.

Objective — 目的

Our school is committed to supporting its operations so that the guiding principle of “Nurturing True Global Citizens” will be carried on into the future. The generous support and contributions we receive from you are carefully utilized as operating funds, allowing us to further enhance the quality of our education while also dedicating greater efforts to activities that serve as a bridge between Japan and the United States.

How Your Donation Is Used

We expand opportunities for students to directly experience and learn from Japanese companies in the U.S., local businesses, and cultural activities.
03
Improving Our Educational Environment
We work to provide a beautiful, comfortable learning environment at each of our campuses, including renovating aging facilities and considering new campus construction.
04
Developing Summer School and Exchange Programs
We continue to enhance our Summer School, where students can learn in both Japanese and English, and we continue to host children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
